Personal Digital Assistants (PDA) are increasingly being used as patient management tools. There are free and fee softwares that can be downloaded and used for your PDA. Genealogy software for PDAs, whether the Palm or Windows operating system, is relatively new. With each software package, you maintain your genealogy records on your desktop or laptop computer, then synchronize those records with the data on a PDA.
GedStar software is available in basic, plus, and pro versions. GedWise syncronizes data from your PC based genealogy database to your Palm PDA using a GEDCOM file. It accepts up to 65,000 individuals, plus events and other data. The web site contains extensive screen samples. The HandyTree accepts new records, or permits editing of existing records, with the transfer of new data back to your PC database. |
